Mia’s singing voice is generated with artificial intelligence. That is the first thing worth saying, because it is the whole premise of the project and not a footnote to it.
She is not a real singer, and she is not a copy of one. No voice has been cloned, no artist imitated, no existing recording used as a model. Mia is invented, the way a character in a novel is invented.
Everything else is human. The songs are written by Víctor Navarro: the music, the words, the structure, and whatever it is each song is trying to say. He arranges them, plays on them, produces, edits, tunes, mixes, and masters them. Mia sings. He does the rest.
La voz de Mia se genera con inteligencia artificial. Es lo primero que hay que decir, porque es la premisa del proyecto y no una nota al pie.
No es una cantante real, y tampoco es la copia de ninguna. No se ha clonado ninguna voz, no se imita a ninguna artista, no se ha usado ninguna grabación existente como modelo. Mia es un personaje inventado, igual que se inventa un personaje en una novela.
Todo lo demás es humano. Las canciones las escribe Víctor Navarro: la música, la letra, la estructura y aquello que cada canción intenta decir. Él las arregla, las toca, las produce, las edita, las afina, las mezcla y las masteriza. Mia canta. Lo demás lo hace él.
Every song starts as a demo. Chords, melody, lyrics, a scratch vocal, recorded in the studio the way any song has always been written here.
Only then do the generative tools come in, and always audio-to-audio: they are fed that demo, never a text prompt conjuring a song out of nothing.
What comes back is never used as it is. Not once. It is torn into fragments, most of it thrown away, and the song is rebuilt from the ground up in the DAW — editing, tuning, timing, arrangement, mix. By the time you hear it, the AI has supplied raw material and nothing more. The record is a human session.
Cada canción nace como una maqueta. Acordes, melodía, letra, una voz de guía grabada en el estudio, igual que se ha escrito aquí siempre cualquier canción.
Solo entonces entran las herramientas generativas, y siempre en modo audio-a-audio: se les da esa maqueta, nunca un prompt de texto que saque una canción de la nada.
Lo que devuelven no se usa jamás tal cual. Ni una sola vez. Se despieza, se descarta la mayor parte y la canción se reconstruye entera en el DAW: edición, afinación, timing, arreglo, mezcla. Cuando llega a tus oídos, la IA ha aportado materia prima y nada más. El disco es una sesión humana.
No AI models are trained here. The tools used are commercial platforms, and the only thing ever fed into them is original material written and recorded for this project. Never someone else’s work.
Preference is given to services that commit to licensed data and to compensating rights holders. This is a young technology and the ground is still moving; the practice here will keep pace with it, and questions about any of this are always welcome.
Aquí no se entrena ningún modelo de IA. Las herramientas que se usan son plataformas comerciales, y lo único que se les entrega es material original escrito y grabado para este proyecto. Nunca la obra de otro.
Se da preferencia a los servicios que se comprometen con datos licenciados y con la retribución a los titulares de derechos. Es una tecnología joven y el terreno aún se mueve; la práctica aquí seguirá su ritmo, y cualquier pregunta al respecto es siempre bienvenida.
Mia Marlowe exists to ask something out loud: does it matter who sings, if the song moves you?
It is a real question, not a slogan, and there is no tidy answer to it here. The only thing offered is that the question be asked honestly — with everything on the table, nothing dressed up, and the human work named for what it is.
